Standards / certification / testing
Formaco takes care of the product quality and agreements by means of on-site testing and reporting of the results in measurement protocols. Standards according to the PED, DIN, EN, ASTM, ASME, MILL, NORSOK etc. Certification to 2.2 / 3.1 / 3.2 and audited by LRS, BV, DNV, ABS, RINA, TUV, GL, ISPESL, LRS, RINA, MMI, STOOMWEZEN or other independent organizations. Contacts with these parties are maintained on project basis. Certificates are stating the chemical and mechanical properties.
Destructive testing
Destructive testing means that materials are tested for its failure mode.
- Tensile test
After reading the "stress-strain diagram" the following parameters are determined:- Proportional limit
Elastic limit
Yield strength
Tensile strength
Necking and elongation
Toughness
Friability
- Proportional limit
- Tensile testing
- Fatigue testing
- Hardness testing
- Impact testing
- CTOD
Niet-destructief onderzoek
Among non-destructive testing (NDT) are research techniques meaning that one can get an idea of the quality of an object to be examined without damaging this object.
The NDT techniques are:
- Visual inspection
- Surface crack detection
- Magnetic particle inspection
- Penetrant inspection
- Eddy Current Research
- Ultrasonic testing
- Hardness measurements
- Vickers
- Rockwell
- Brinell
- Button
- Radiograph
- X-ray tube
- isotope
- Neutron graphic
- Leak detection
- Press test
- Thermal inspection methods
- Holographic interferometry
- Tear Depth Measurements
- Coating Thickness Measurement
- Material Identification
- Positive material identification (PMI)
- Optical emission spectroscopy (OES)
- Drop Test
- Ferrite measurements
